The future is as fuzzy as the picture. I thought that with an advanced degree and 20 years experience, I would have little trouble finding meaningful work. But I am out of work, almost out of unemployment insurance, and haven’t seen a doctor or dentist in years, since my last two employers (at $60K/year) did not offer health coverage. Two years left on the mortgage after 20 years of not missing a payment. Will I make it? Will I even make it through the winter?
