Έξι μήνες μετά το περιστατικό στην Πάρο, νοσηλεύεται ακόμη στην εντατική Ύστερα από έξι μήνες νοσηλείας, αρχικά στο νοσοκομείο Αττικόν και στη συνέχεια στο Θεραπευτήριο «Υγεία», η Μυρτώ δείχνει τα πρώτα σημάδια βελτίωσης στην υγεία της.
Η 15χρονη κοπέλα που κακοποιήθηκε βάναυσα από Πακιστανό λαθρομετανάστη στη διάρκεια των καλοκαιρινών της διακοπών στην Πάρο κατάφερε πριν από λίγες μέρες να κάνει τα πρώτα της βήματα. Βήματα μικρά αλλά καθοριστικά για τη μαραθώνια διαδρομή που διανύει από εκείνη την Κυριακή της 22ας Ιουλίου 2012.
Όπως δηλώνει ο πατέρας της Μυρτούς στο Πρώτο Θέμα «η κατάσταση της υγείας της βελτιώνεται με αργούς ρυθμούς. Εμείς έχουμε ελπίδες για περαιτέρω βελτίωση στην υγεία της, αλλά θέλει πολύ χρόνο ακόμη. Έχουμε υπομονή και ελπίζουμε το καλύτερο».
Κι ενώ η 15χρονη έχει ήδη συμπληρώσει τέσσερις μήνες νοσηλείας, ο Πακιστανός δράστης βρίσκεται προφυλακιστέος στις φυλακές Γρεβενών, σε υποπτέρυγα μόνο με υπόδικους και κατάδικους για σεξουαλικά εγκλήματα.
