Η πρεσβεία των ΗΠΑ στην Άγκυρα ανακοίνωσε ότι έλαβε την άδεια του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ για την εθελούσια αποχώρηση των μελών των οικογενειών του προσωπικού στην Τουρκία, μετά το αποτυχημένο πραξικόπημα της 15ης Ιουλίου.
Η κήρυξη στην Τουρκία κατάστασης έκτακτης ανάγκης επίσης ώθησε το αμερικανικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών να αλλάξει το καθεστώς, ανακοίνωσε η πρεσβεία σε ηλεκτρονικό μήνυμα ασφαλείας που απέστειλε στους Αμερικανούς που διαμένουν στην Τουρκία.
“Κατά τη διάρκεια της περιόδου αυτής, αμερικανικοί πολίτες στην Τουρκία μπορεί να παρατηρήσουν μια αύξηση της δράσης και των περιορισμών εκ μέρους της αστυνομίας και του στρατού όσον αφορά τις μετακινήσεις”, ανέφερε η πρεσβεία.
