Με οργισμένες αντιδράσεις, κάψιμο τουρκικών σημαιών και όρκους ότι εδώ θα γίνει ο τάφος των Τούρκων, αντιμετώπισαν στην Βαγδάτη τις δηλώσεις του Ερντογάν ότι τα τουρκικά στρατεύματα θα προχωρήσουν μέχρι την Μοσούλη για να εκδιώξουν τους Τζιχαντιστές.
Ήδη η κυβέρνηση της Βαγδάτης ζήτησε επίσημα να αποχωρήσουν άμεσα οι τουρκικές δυνάμεις από την τουρκική βάση Başika, στο βόρειο Ιράκ και παράλληλα κάλεσε τον “Ηνωμένο Σιϊτικό Στρατό” να ετοιμαστεί να χτυπήσει τους Τούρκους αν δεν υπακούσουν στο αίτημα της νόμιμης κυβέρνησης του Ιράκ.
Ιδιαίτερα αιχμηρός ήταν ο πρωθυπουργός του Ιράκ, Haydar Al Abadi, ο οποίος απείλησε τους Τούρκους με σφαγή αν κάνουν το ατόπημα να προχωρήσουν προς την Μοσούλη και αν δεν εκκενώσουν τα ιρακινά εδάφη.
Παράλληλα και ο εκπρόσωπος του αμερικανικού υπουργείου Εξωτερικών, Mark Toner, παίρνοντας ανοιχτά το μέρος της Βαγδάτης τόνισε πως κάθε κίνηση της Τουρκίας στο Ιράκ θα πρέπει να έχει την νόμιμη έγκριση της κυβέρνησης της Βαγδάτης.
Ερώτημα μένει ποια θα είναι η θέση για το ζήτημα αυτό του Ρώσου προέδρου, Βλαδιμήρ Πούτιν, που σήμερα πραγματοποιεί επίσκεψη στην Τουρκία εν όψει της Παγκόσμιας Συνδιάσκεψης για το ενεργειακό, όπου και θα έχει σημαντικές επαφές με τους Τούρκους.

Πάντως ο Ερντογάν… «κατάφερε» να ανοίξει και άλλο μέτωπο στα ανατολικά!
