Ευρεία έκταση στα τουρκικά ΜΜΕ πήραν οι φωτογραφίες που δείχνουν το ελληνικό πολεμικό πλοίο HS Rıtsos με νούμερο P 71 να διέρχεται με αργή μεγαλοπρεπή κίνηση και με υψωμένη την ελληνική σημαία, τον Βόσπορο, απέναντι από τις ακτές της Κωνσταντινούπολης
Το πλοίο συνόδευαν πλοία της τουρκικής ακτοφυλακής και όπως αναφέρεται επίστρεφε μετά από την περιοδεία του στην Μαύρη Θάλασσα πριν από 7 μέρες κάνοντας 1,5 ώρα να διέλθει τον Βόσπορο.
Η εικόνα αυτή σπάνια για τα χρονικά του Βοσπόρου προκάλεσε την έντονη προσοχή των Τούρκων και όπως αναφέρεται υπήρξε μεγάλη κινητοποίηση των αρχών στρατιωτικών και ναυτικών που παρακολουθούσαν το ελληνικό πολεμικό πλοίο.

Δεν ειδα ουτε εχει παραταχθεί άγημα με τον οπλισμό τους ούτε να γυρίσουν κανόνια και πολυβόλα προς την ακτή ,ουτε σημαια με τον δικεφαλο αετο
