Τουλάχιστον 33 άνθρωποι σκοτώθηκαν και περισσότεροι από 60 τραυματίστηκαν σε μια σειρά από βομβιστικές επιθέσεις που σημειώθηκαν σε προεκλογική συγκέντρωση ενός σιιτικού κόμματος στο Ιράκ, μία εβδομάδα πριν από τις βουλευτικές εκλογές. Συγκλονίζει το βίντεο που δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα από τη στιγμή της επίθεσης.
Η σιιτική οργάνωση Ασάιμπ Αλ Χακ (Συνασπισμός των Δικαίων) παρουσίαζε τους υποψηφίους της για τις εκλογές της 30ής Απριλίου σε μια συγκέντρωση στην ανατολική Βαγδάτη.
Τρεις βόμβες εξερράγησαν, η μία μετά την άλλη, καθώς ο κόσμος αποχωρούσε, όπως ανέφεραν δημοσιογράφοι του πρακτορείου ειδήσεων Ρόιτερς από την περιοχή.
