Το CDC (Κέντρο Ελέγχου και Πρόληψης Νοσημάτων) αφαίρεσαν “άμεσα” μια σελίδα από την ιστοσελίδα τους, της οποίας στιγμιότυπο θα βρείτε πλέον ΕΔΩ, όπου παραδέχεται ότι πάνω από 98 εκατομμύρια Αμερικανοί έλαβαν μία ή περισσότερες δόσεις του εμβολίου της πολιομυελίτιδας μέσα σε μια 8-ετή διάρκεια, όταν ένα μέρος του εμβολίου ήταν μολυσμένο με καρκίνο προκαλώντας τον αποκαλούμενο polyomavirus SV40.
Έχει υπολογιστεί ότι 10-30 εκατομμύρια Αμερικανοί έχουν λάβει μια μολυσμένη δόση του εμβολίου SV40. Ο SV40 είναι μια συντομογραφία για τον ιό Simian, ή ιός του πιθήκου 40, ένας Ιός Πολυώματος που βρίσκεται στους πιθήκους και στους ανθρώπους.
Όπως και άλλοι Ιοί Πολυώματος, ο SV40 είναι ένας ιός DNA που έχει βρεθεί ότι προκαλεί όγκους και καρκίνο.
Ο SV40 πιστεύεται ότι καταστέλει τις μεταγραφικές ιδιότητες των καρκινικών- γονιδίων στον άνθρωπο μέσω του Μεγάλου SV40 Τ-αντιγόνου και του SV40 Μικρού Τ-αντιγόνου.
Τα μεταλλαγμένα γονίδια συμβάλουν στον ανεξέλεγκτο κυτταρικό πολλαπλασιασμό, που οδηγεί σε καρκίνο.
