Με περίπου 75 ευρώ τον χρόνο, από την αύξηση του ΕΤΜΕΑΡ (πρώην τέλος ΑΠΕ), θα επιβαρυνθεί κάθε μέσο νοικοκυριό από την 1η Μαρτίου 2014, σύμφωνα με την απόφαση της ΡΑΕ που δημοσιεύθηκε στην Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως.
Οι αυξήσεις, όπως διευκρινίζεται, δεν θα ισχύσουν στην περίπτωση που το υπουργείο Περιβάλλοντος (ΥΠΕΚΑ) βρει μέτρα για να κλείσει η μαύρη τρύπα του λογαριασμού μέσω του οποίου πληρώνονται οι παραγωγοί ενέργειας από φωτοβολταϊκά.
Την τελευταία ημέρα του 2013 δημοσιεύθηκε στην Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως η απόφαση της Ρυθμιστικής Αρχής Ενέργειας (ΡΑΕ), σύμφωνα με την οποία οι αυξήσεις στο ΕΤΜΕΑΡ, που πληρώνουν οι καταναλωτές μέσω του λογαριασμού της ΔΕΗ, αντί να ξεκινήσουν από αρχές του χρόνου «παγώνουν» έως το τέλος Φεβρουαρίου.
Το «πάγωμα» συνδέεται με την εν εξελίξει επικοινωνιακή εκστρατεία περί μείωσης του κόστους ηλεκτρικού ρεύματος, ώστε να αντιμετωπιστεί το φαινόμενο της αιθαλομίχλης.
