Σε άκρως επιθετικές και απειλητικές δηλώσεις κατά της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας προέβη – μέσω μιας παροιμίας – ο Τούρκος Υπουργός Ενέργειας και Φυσικών Πόρων, Taner Yıldız σχετικά με το υδρογονάνθρακες (φυσικό αέριο, πετρέλαιο) που θα εξορυχτούν στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο.
Ο κ. Yıldız στην αρχή της δήλωσής του επανέλαβε την γνωστή τουρκική θεση ότι θα πρέπει να δοθεί σε όλο το λαό της Κύπρου το πετρέλαιο που θα εξορυχθεί – ”ξεχνώντας” βέβαια ότι αυτό αποτελεί Κυπριακή πρόταση υπό την προϋπόθεση να λυθεί το Κυπριακό: “Εμείς δηλώνουμε πάντα ότι ένα θέμα που αφορά οποιαδήποτε κίνηση της ”Ρωμαίικης Διοίκησης της Νότιας Κύπρου” στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο, που αντίκειται στο διεθνές δίκαιο, και η οποία στρέφεται στο φυσικό αέριο ή στο πετρέλαιο, θα καταστεί λογική μόνο στην περίπτωση που δοθεί σε όλη την Κύπρο, σε όλο τον λαό της Κύπρου. Κάθε άλλη λύση πέρα από αυτήν θα προκαλέσει την αντίρρησή μας”.
Για να συνεχίσει ο κ Taner Yıldız με τα εξής απαράδεκτα : “Θέλω να δώσω ένα παράδειγμα από μια ρωμαίικη παροιμία. Αν η πέτρα πέσει πάνω στο αβγό, αλίμονο στ’ αβγό. Αν το αβγό πέσει πάνω στην πέτρα, αλίμονο στ’ αβγό. Γι’ αυτό εμείς προσπαθούμε πάντα να βρισκόμαστε στο σωστό μέρος, προσπαθούμε πάντα να μένουμε στο σωστό μέρος”.
