CIA και FBI βρίσκονται σε «ανοιχτή γραμμή» με τις αρχές του Κιέβου, χαράζοντας την πορεία που ορίζει ο Λευκός Οίκος.
Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της γερμανικής κυριακάτικης εφημερίδας Bild am Sonntag, η οποία επικαλείται πηγές από υψηλόβαθμους γερμανούς αξιωματούχους, στόχος των αμερικανικών μυστικών υπηρεσιών είναι να καταστείλουν κάθε λαϊκή διαμαρτυρία στην ανατολική Ουκρανία, ώστε να προχωρήσει το μοντέλο διακυβέρνησης που έχουν επιβάλλει στο Κίεβο. Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα της Bild am Sonntag, οι πράκτορες της CIA και του FBI δεν συμμετέχουν ενεργά στις στρατιωτικές επιχειρήσεις της Ουκρανίας στα ανατολικά της χώρας, αλλά η δραστηριότητά τους περιορίζεται στο Κίεβο, καθώς υποτίθεται πως βοηθούν τις αρχές στην εξάρθρωση του οργανωμένου εγκλήματος.
Η εφημερίδα αναφέρεται και στην πρόσφατη επίσκεψη του αρχηγού της CIA Τζον Μπρέναν στο Κίεβο, στα μέσα Απριλίου.
Οπως είχε δηλώσει τότε ο πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Διεθνών Σχέσεων της ρωσικής Δούμας Αλεξέι Πουσκόφ, «η επίσκεψη αποκάλυψε την στενή σχέση των αρχών του Κιέβου με τις ΗΠΑ, αποδεικνύοντας πως ο Λευκός Οίκος έχει υποσκελίσει την κυβέρνηση, ελέγχοντας το καθεστώς, πάντα προς όφελος των δικών του επιδιώξεων».
