Πριν από λίγο διέρρευσε οδηγία του Υπουργείο Εκτάκτων Καταστάσεων της Ρωσίας, προς το Δήμαρχο της Αγίας Πετρούπολης και τις μεγάλες εταιρείες να αναλάβουν άμεσα τα έξοδα αγοράς και προμήθειας μασκών αερίων, προκειμένου να καλυφθεί το 100% του πληθυσμού της πόλης και να μην υπάρχουν προβλήματα σε περίπτωση έκτακτης ανάγκης.Στις εταιρείες που θα αρνηθούν να προβούν στην άμεση αγορά των εν λόγω υλικών θα τους επιβληθούν πρόστιμα 200.000 ρούβλιων και στους διευθυντές τους επιπλέον 20.000 ρούβλια.
Δεδομένου ότι, σύμφωνα με την Επιτροπή Απασχόλησης και Κοινωνικής Προστασίας της Αγίας Πετρούπολης, η πόλη έχει περίπου 3,1 εκατομμύρια άνθρωπους, οι συνολικές δαπάνες των επιχειρήσεων θα υπερβούν τα 700 εκατομμύρια ρούβλια
Ο σκοπός του υπουργού Έκτακτων Καταστάσεωνκ.Βλαντιμίρ Puchkov, που τίθεται σε ισχύ από σήμερα – αφορά στην προστασία του πληθυσμού σε περίπτωση χημικής ή ραδιενεργής μόλυνσης.
Η πόλη της Αγίας Πετρούπολης είναι στρατηγικής σημασίας (λόγω θέσης και αποθηκευμένων οπλικών συστημάτων) και γι΄αυτό εδώ και μερικά χρόνια έχουν δημιουργηθεί Ομάδες πολιτικής και στρατιωτικής προστασίας εκτάκτων αναγκών.
