Αποτεφρωμένος βρέθηκε από μέλη της οικογενείας ο 65χρονος Danny Vanzandt από το Muldrow της πολιτείας της Οκλαχόμα.
Σύμφωνα με τον σερίφη του Sequoyah County ο θάνατός του οφείλεται σε SHC (sponta-neous human compustion) ή ΑΑΑ (αυτόματη ανθρώπινη ανάφλεξη), μια μη προκαλούμενη από εξωτερικούς παράγοντες καύση του σώματος.!
Σε δήλωση του στην KSDK-TV ο σερίφης αναφέρει: “Νομίζω ότι υπάρχουν μόνο περίπου 200 τέτοιες περιπτώσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο. Δεν έχουμε αποκλείσει ακόμα αυτή τη πιθανότητα” και πρόσθεσε “Δεν υπήρξε καμία ζημιά στα έπιπλα και τριγύρω από το νεκρό σώμα του 65χρονου”.
Σύμφωνα με την έρευνα ο Vanzandt ήταν αλκοολικός και καπνιστής, παράγοντες που μπορεί να συνέβαλαν στην αυτόματη ανθρώπινη ανάφλεξη.
Στην αυτοψία που έγινε δεν υπήρχε καμία απόδειξη εγκληματικής ενέργειας.
Σύμφωνα με τους ειδικούς στην αυτόματη ανθρώπινη ανάφλεξη, αποδίδονται άτυπα περιπτώσεις ανθρώπων που βρέθηκαν καμμένοι σε δωμάτια ανέπαφα.
Τα περισσότερα πτώματα ανακαλύπτονται ολοσχερώς καμμένα στον κορμό με ανέπαφα κάτω άκρα ή ακόμη και με ανέπαφα τα ρούχα τους.
