Δραματικές στιγμές ζουν από το πρωί οι επιβάτες του πλοίου Norman Atlantic.
Μιλώντας σε πρωινή εκπομπή του Mega, επιβάτης του πλοίου δήλωσε: «Η φωτιά καίει ακόμα, τη βλέπουμε στο κάτω κατάστρωμα, εκεί όπου είναι η ρεσεψιόν και βρίσκονταν και οι σωσίβιες λέμβους. Άρχισαν να καίνε τα παπούτσια μας, οι λαμαρίνες άρχισαν να καίνε και “φούσκωσαν”. Δεν μπορούμε να πάμε στο κάτω κατάστρωμα ούτε πουθενά, γύρω γύρω όλα καίγονται!»
Το πλήρωμα δεν έχει εγκαταλείψει τους επιβάτες και είναι σε συνεχή επικοινωνία με πλοία που σπεύδουν για βοήθεια αλλά και με τις ιταλικές αρχές που συντονίζουν την επιχείρηση διάσωσης.
