Οι Reid Wiseman και Alexander Gerst, δύο αστροναύτες από τον Ευρωπαϊκό Σταθμό Διαστήματος, είχαν βγει έξω από τον Διεθνή Διαστημικό Σταθμό για να κάνουν μια σειρά επισκευών.
Το βίντεο της NASA, όπου έχει διάρκεια πέντε λεπτών, καταγράφει τον διαστημικό περίπατο των δύο αστροναυτών, όπου «συνέλαβε» ένα αγνώστου ταυτότητας αντικείμενο που βρισκόταν σε παράλληλη πορεία με αυτή των δύο αντρών και μέσα στο βαθύ σκοτάδι του διαστήματος.
Το μυστηριώδες αυτό ιπτάμενο αντικείμενο είναι ορατό στο βίντεο μόνο για πέντε δευτερόλεπτα και με δυσκολία διακρίνεται στη άβυσσο που μεσολαβεί μεταξύ της γης και του Διεθνούς Διαστημικού Σταθμού. Αυτό το παράξενο συμβάν σημειώθηκε την Τρίτη 7 Οκτωβρίου 2014.
