Ο Παγκόσμιος Οργανισμός Υγείας (ΠΟΥ) ανακοίνωσε χθες ότι θα στείλει ιατρικά εφόδια στην πόλη του Χαλεπίου της Συρίας. Ο διεθνής οργανισμός όμως, όπως αναφέρθηκε, δεν είναι σε θέση να εξακριβώσει και να επιβεβαιώσει, αν έχει γίνει χρήση χημικών όπλων ή κάποιας άλλης τοξίνης, στην περιοχή αυτή της Συρίας
«Σε αυτό το στάδιο δεν μπορούμε να επιβεβαιώσουμε τη χρήση χημικών όπλων, ούτε παραγώγων τους », ανέφερε στο πρακτορείο Ρόιτερς, ο εκπρόσωπος του διεθνούς οργανισμού Ταρίκ Γιασάρεβιτς από τη Γενεύη.
«Αύριο (Τετάρτη) το πρωί, ο Παγκόσμιος Οργανισμός Υγείας θα στείλει ιατρικές προμήθειες στο Χαλέπι, από τα αποθέματα του στην Ταρτούς» επιβεβαίωσε ο εκπρόσωπος του ΠΟΥ.
Το καθεστώς του προέδρου Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ και οι αντικαθεστωτικοί αντάρτες της Συρίας, αλληλοκατηγορούνται, για χρήση θανατηφόρων χημικών κοντά στο Χαλέπι στα βόρεια της χώρας, μια πληροφορία που αν επιβεβαιωθεί, θα είναι η πρώτη χρήση τέτοιων όπλων στα δύο χρόνια των αιματηρών συγκρούσεων.
