Η ηλιακή κηλίδα AR1654 που μας απασχόλησε τις προηγούμενες ημέρες είναι τόσο μεγάλη που άνθρωποι αρχίζουν να την παρατηρούν δια γυμνού οφθαλμού. Το πρωί της 14ης Ιανουαρίου ο Göran Strand φωτογράφησε το αυτό το μεγαθήριο την ώρα της ανατολής ηλίου πάνω από Frösön της Σουηδίας. Την ώρα που ελήφθη η φωτογραφία επικρατούσε….

Σήμερα τα ξημερώματα της 15ης Ιανουαρίου η AR1654 έχει μέγεθος 14 φορές μεγαλύτερο από αυτό της Γης, δηλαδή εκτείνεται 180.000 χιλιόμετρα ! Με την ως έχει κατάσταση θα μπορούσε να παραχθεί μέχρι και μια έκρηξη X-Class και να προκαλέσει δυσλειτουργίες σε πολλά δορυφορικά αλλά και επίγεια μέσα.
