Ο τερματοφύλακας και αρχηγός της εθνικής Νοτίου Αφρικής, Σένζο Μεγίβα, δολοφονήθηκε σε ηλικία 27 ετών, μετά από πυροβολισμό στο κεφάλι.Συγκλονισμένη είναι η κοινή γνώμη στη Ν. Αφρική μετά τη δολοφονία του 27άχρονου τερματοφύλακα και αρχηγού της εθνικής ομάδας της χώρας και των Orlando Pirates, Σένζο Μεγίβα, από πυροβολισμό στο κεφάλι.
Όπως αναφέρουν ΜΜΕ της χώρας ο Μεγίβα ήταν στο σπίτι της συντρόφου του, όταν κάποιος ληστής θέλησε να του πάρει το κινητό και αμέσως άνοιξε πυρ εναντίον του. Ο Μεγίβα μεταφέρθηκε στο νοσοκομείο της πόλης, αλλά είχε αφήσει την τελευταία του πνοή κατά τη διακομιδή του σε αυτό, με τις ακριβείς πληροφορίες να μην είναι ακόμη ξεκάθαρες. Ο άτυχος τερματοφύλακας είχε πάρει μέρος στη νίκη της ομάδας του, Orlando Pirates, επί του Ajax Ν. Αφρικής, λίγες ώρες πριν τη δολοφονία του.
