Θα πούμε το νερό νεράκι στα επόμενα χρόνια! Για τον λόγο αυτό οι
επιστήμονες αναζήτησαν νέους τρόπους αποθήκευσης νερού σε στερεή μορφή.
Οι
γιαπωνέζοι επιστήμονες (“High-water-content mouldable hydrogels by
mixing clay and a dendritic molecular binder”) για μια ακόμη φορά έκαναν
το θαύμα τους και κατασκεύασαν το ελαστικό νερό.
Η ανακάλυψη έγινε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Τόκυο.
Το
νέο «σκληρό» πια νερό αποτελείται από 95% καθαρό νερό ενώ το υπόλοιπο
πέντε τοις εκατό αποτελεί ο πηλός και άλλα οργανικά υλικά. Το
αποτέλεσμα μοιάζει με ζελέ, αλλά είναι πιο ελαστικό και τελείως
διάφανο, όπως μπορείτε να δείτε στην φωτογραφία του Japan Science &
Tachology Agency.
Η επίσημη ανακοίνωση έγινε στο περιοδικό Nature πριν από μια εβδομάδα,
σημειώνοντας πως το υλικό αυτό θα είναι φιλικό και ασφαλές προς το περιβάλλον και τους ανθρώπους
ενώ μπορεί σύντομα να αποτελέσει ένα σημαντικό ιατρικό εργαλείο, στη
καταπολέμηση τραυματισμένου ή χειρουργημένου ιστού, σε φάση ανάρρωσης.
Το εντυπωσιακό γεγονός είναι πως αν η
σύσταση του στερεού νερού πυκνώσει κι άλλο, τότε θα μπορούσε να παραχθεί
ένα άλλο υλικό συσκευασίας που θα μπορούσε να αντικαταστήσει τις
συσκευασίες πλαστικού μια για πάντα
