Απαγόρευση κυκλοφορίας από τις 9 χθες το βράδυ μέχρι της 6 σήμερα το πρωί επιβλήθηκε από τις Αρχές στη Λιβερία, σε μια προσπάθεια να αναχαιτιστεί η εξάπλωση του ιού του Έμπολα.
Η επιδημία της αιμορραγικής νόσου έχει σκοτώσει περίπου 1.300 ανθρώπους σε χώρες της Δυτικής Αφρικής και συγκεκριμένα στη Λιβερία, τη Σιέρα Λεόνε και τη Γουινέα, ενώ κρούσματα και θάνατοι ασθενών έχουν σημειωθεί και στην Νιγηρία.
Οι τελευταίοι θάνατοι από τον ιό Έμπολα καταγράφηκαν τη χρονική περίοδο μεταξύ της 14ης και 16ης Αυγούστου, όπου στη Λιβερία έχασαν τη ζωή τους 53 άνθρωποι, 17 στη Σιέρα Λεόνε και 14 στη Γουινέα. Στη Νιγηρία ο αριθμός των νεκρών είναι πέντε καθώς ένας γιατρός που είχε προσβληθεί από τον ιό Έμπολα κατέληξε, όπως ανακοίνωσε το υπουργείο Υγείας της χώρας.
