Με e-mail προς τους Αμερικανούς υπηκόους που ζουν στην Ελλάδα, η πρεσβεία των ΗΠΑ δίνει “οδηγίες ασφαλείας” για την ερχόμενη Κυριακή… ημέρα εκδηλώσεων για την 40η επέτειο του Πολυτεχνείου.
Με το “μήνυμα ασφαλείας” -όπως το ονομάζει- η αμερικανική πρεσβεία καλεί τους Αμερικανούς που ζουν στην Αθήνα να αποφύγουν την περιοχή μεταξύ της πλατείας Συντάγματος και της Πρεσβείας μετά τις 2 το μεσημέρι της Κυριακής. Την ίδια σύσταση κάνει και για την περιοχή γύρω από το προξενείο της Θεσσαλονίκης αλλά και γύρω από πανεπιστήμια όλης της χώρας!
Στη συνέχεια το μήνυμα αναφέρει ότι στο παρελθόν κάποιες διαδηλώσεις ήταν επεισοδιακές και δίνει συγκεκριμένες οδηγίες: “να αποφεύγετε τους χώρους των διαδηλώσεων και αν βρεθείτε πολύ κοντά σε μια διαδήλωση κινηθείτε προς την αντίθετη κατεύθυνση και αναζητείστε καταφύγιο”.
Το μήνυμα καλεί τους πολίτες να παρακολουθούν τα δελτία ειδήσεων και να αναφέρουν περιστατικά βίας στην Πρεσβεία των ΗΠΑ στην Αθηνα και στο Προξενείο της Θεσσαλονίκης. Τους καλεί επίσης να είναι σε αυξημένη επαγρύπνηση και να πάρουν τα κατάλληλα μέτρα για την ασφάλειά τους ενώ στο τέλος του κειμένου αναφέρονται οι τρόποι επικοινωνίας με την πρεσβεία και το προξενείο.
