Άφωνοι οι επιστήμονες – Δείτε τι δημιούργησε στην Κεφαλονιά ο πρόσφατος σεισμός!
Ο πρόσφατος καταστροφικός σεισμός στην Κεφαλονιά, είχε πολύ άσχημες επιπτώσεις για τους κατοίκους του νησιού, ωστόσο δημιούργησε… και ένα μοναδικό γεωλογικό φαινόμενο, μία καινούργια παραλία.
Η ομάδα του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με επικεφαλής τον αναπληρωτή καθηγητή Π. Παπαδημητρίου και τον επίκουρο καθηγητή Ι. Κασσάρα, μετέβη στην χερσόνησο της Παλικής και στην περιοχή Λιβάδι παρατήρησαν ότι η παραλία είχε επεκταθεί από τους πρόσφατους σεισμούς.
Οπως εξηγούν, μιλώντας στην εφημερίδα το Βήμα, στο παρελθόν, η παραλία μπροστά από το κτίριο των φυλακών ήταν πολύ στενή, μόλις μερικά μέτρα, ωστόσο, τώρα ανυψώθηκε κατά 20 εκατοστά παίρνοντας ταυτόχρονα και κλίση.
Σύμφωνα με τους ερευνητές, κάτι τέτοιο είναι εφικτό, αφού η σεισμική κίνηση ήταν διαφορική κι έτσι όταν η μία πλευρά του ρήγματος βυθίστηκε, η άλλη ανυψώθηκε.
Ετσι λοιπόν, εξαιτίας του σεισμού και χάρη στην παρατηρητικότητα των ερευνητών γινόμαστε μάρτυρες ενός μοναδικού γεωλογικού φαινομένου.
