Σύμφωνα με τα ιταλικά ΜΜΕ, νωρίτερα σήμερα δεκάδες φοιτητές κατέλαβαν το διάσημο πύργο της Πίζας στην Τοσκάνη και ανάρτησαν από αυτόν ένα πανό με το σύνθημα «όχι στη μεταρρύθμιση».
Την ίδια στιγμή, συμπλοκές σημειώθηκαν στη Φλωρεντία μεταξύ διαδηλωτών και δυνάμεων της αστυνομίας, ενώ χιλιάδες νέοι πραγματοποίησαν πορεία στη Ρώμη χωρίς να σημειωθούν επεισόδια.
Αντιμέτωπη με την οικονομική κρίση, η ιταλική κυβέρνηση υιοθέτησε πολλούς νόμους σε δύο χρόνια θητείας, οι οποίοι έχουν ως συνέπεια την περικοπή 9 δισεκατομμυρίων ευρώ και 130.000 θέσεων εργασίας στον τομέα της παιδείας την πενταετία 2009-2013.
Χθες σημειώθηκαν συμπλοκές κατά τη διάρκεια των διαδηλώσεων μεταξύ των φοιτητών και των δυνάμεων της αστυνομίας, κυρίως στο κέντρο της Ρώμης
