Οι ειδικοί αποδίδουν την άνευ προηγουμένου ζέστη σε ένα υποτροπικό σύστημα υψηλής πίεσης και την έλλειψη βροχής, όπως μεταδίδουν τα κρατικά μέσα ενημέρωσης. Οι Κινέζοι συνωστίζονται στις πισίνες ναλλά και σε καταστήματα και σταθμούς μετρό που κλιματίζονται, αναζητώντας μία ανάσα δροσιάς. Η χθεσινή, ήταν η 18η συνεχόμενη ημέρα που το θερμόμετρο δεν έπεσε κάτω από τους 38 βαθμούς Κελσίου !!!
