Η Τουρκία μέσω του υδρογραφικού σταθμού της Αττάλειας, εξέδωσε Navtex σύμφωνα με την οποία δεσμεύει θαλάσσια περιοχή νότια των νησιών της Μεγίστης προκειμένου να πραγματοποιηθεί άσκηση με πραγματικά πυρά σήμερα Παρασκευή και αύριο Σάββατο από το τουρκικό Πολεμικό Ναυτικό.
Η υπ’ αρίθμ. 619 Navtex εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο της γενικότερης προσπάθειας της Άγκυρας να αυξήσει τις πιέσεις στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο, μία εβδομάδα μετά την οδηγία προς ναυτιλλομένους με την οποία ανακοίνωσε την έναρξη γεωτρήσεων εντός της κυπριακής ΑΟΖ για τον «Πορθητή».
Την ίδια στιγμή το τουρκικό γεωτρύπανο Fatih ετοιμάζεται για υποθαλάσσια γεώτρηση ανοιχτά της Πάφου, στην Αποκλειστική Οικονομική Ζώνη της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας.
Υπενθυμίζεται ότι χθες, στην άτυπη Σύνοδο Κορυφής του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου, όλοι οι Ευρωπαίοι ηγέτες τάχθηκαν υπέρ της Κύπρου αφήνοντας ανοιχτό το ενδεχόμενο να επιβληθούν κυρώσεις στην Τουρκία…
