Πυροσβεστικό ελικόπτερο το οποίο συμμετείχε στην κατάσβεση της μεγάλης πυρκαγιάς που έχει ξεσπάσει από το μεσημέρι στη Σάμο κατέπεσε σε θαλάσσια περιοχή.
Στο ελικόπτερο επέβαιναν τέσσερα άτομα και συγκεκριμένα επιχειρούσε στο σημείο Πλάκα. Οι πληροφορίες αναφέρουν ότι είναι τύπου Μi-8, ρωσικής κατασκευής μισθωμένο από το εξωτερικό.
Συναγερμός επικρατει στο κέντρο επιχειρήσεων της πυροσβεστικής καθώς έχει χαθεί η επικοινωνία με το συγκεκριμένο ελικόπτερο. Ωστόσο μέχρι στιγμής δεν έχει επιβεβαιώσει το περιστατικό.

Το ελικόπτερο ήταν μισθωμένο από την Ουκρανία, στο πλαίσιο των ενοικιάσεων εναέριων μέσων για τη θερινή περίοδο όπου και υπάρχει έξαρση των πυρκαγιών στη χώρα μας.
