Ισχυρή καταιγίδα εκδηλώθηκε λίγο μετά τις 4.30 το απόγευμα στη Λαμία και την ευρύτερη περιοχή.
Εκτός από την καταρρακτώδη βροχή κατά τόπους έπεσε χαλάζι ενώ οι ισχυροί δυτικοί άνεμοι έχουν δημιουργήσει ένα ασφυκτικό τοπίο.
Ακόμη και τα αποχετευτικά έργα του Δήμου της Λαμίας δεν αντέχουν τον όγκο του νερού και μάλιστα σε ορισμένα κρίσιμα σημεία εκτινάσσονται τα καπάκια της αποχέτευσης των υδάτων δημιουργώντας παγίδες στους δρόμους.
Ιδιαίτερα στις νότιες περιοχές της Λαμίας οι δρόμοι έγιναν ποτάμια ενώ πλεονάζουν τα προβλήματα στο οδικό δίκτυο καθώς σημεία του οδικού δικτύου της πόλης είναι αδιάβατα λόγω του όγκου του νερού.
Στην εθνική οδό Αθηνών-Θεσσαλονίκης από το 195ό χιλιόμετρο στα διόδια της Αγ. Τριάδας μέχρι το 223 χλμ στη Στυλίδα τα αυτοκίνητα αναγκάστηκαν να κινούνται με βήμα σημειωτόν λόγω των έντονων καιρικών φαινομένων.
