Δύο σεισμικές δονήσεις καταγράφτηκαν αντίστοιχα τις πρώτες πρωινές ώρες και χθες βράδυ στον θαλάσσιο χώρο μεταξύ Αμοργού και Σαντορίνης, σύμφωνα με δεδομένα που δημοσιοποίησε το Γεωδυναμικό Ινστιτούτο του Εθνικού Αστεροσκοπείου της Αθήνας.
Στη 01:08 καταγράφτηκε σεισμός μεγέθους 4,5 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ 23 χιλιόμετρα νότια-νοτιοδυτικά της Αρκεσίνης Αμοργού και χθες Κυριακή στις 22:55 σεισμός 4,2 βαθμών 18 χιλιόμετρα νότια-νοτιοδυτικά της ίδιας κοινότητας, κατά την πηγή αυτή.
Και οι δύο σεισμικές δονήσεις χαρακτηρίστηκαν «ασθενείς» από το Ινστιτούτο.
Κατά το χρονικό διάστημα μεταξύ της 26ης Ιανουαρίου και της Παρασκευής 14ης Φεβρουαρίου καταγράφτηκαν πάνω από 16.900 σεισμοί μεγέθους άνω του ενός βαθμού στη ζώνη μεταξύ Αμοργού και Σαντορίνης, σύμφωνα με το Εργαστήριο Σεισμολογίας του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου της Αθήνας (ΕΚΠΑ). Η πηγή αυτή έκανε λόγο χθες Κυριακή για «σταδιακή μείωση» της σεισμικής δραστηριότητας στην περιοχή.
