H Τουρκία υλοποιώντας στην πράξη την ανακήρυξη ΑΟΖ σε μια έκταση που φτάνει μέχρι τις νοτιοανατολικές ακτές της Καρπάθου, αμφισβητεί το δικαίωμα της Ελλάδας να δεσμεύει περιοχές που βρίσκονται επί της «τουρκικής ΑΟΖ» νοτιοανατολικά της Καρπάθου για ασκήσεις!
Συγκεκριμένα απαντώντας σε μία περιοχή που δέσμευσε η Ελλάδα για άσκηση επάνω στην «τουρκικής ΑΟΖ» η Αγκυρα το μόνο που δεν είπε (ακόμα…) είναι ότι η Κάρπαθος δεν είναι ελληνική!
Ετσι μέσω του σταθμού της Αττάλειας, που δεν έχει καμία δικαιοδοσία, εξέδωσε αντιNAVTEX στην ελληνική, η Αγκυρα εξέδωσε NAVTEX με ίδιες ακριβώς συντεταγμένες με την ελληνική, λέγοντας επί της ουσίας πως αν η Ελλάδα θέλει να κάνει άσκηση στην περιοχή θα πρέπει να το κάνει με βάση την τουρκική οδηγία προς ναυτιλομένους (NAVTEX).
Παράλληλα εξέδωσε δύο ακόμα NAVTEX για ασκήσεις του τουρκικού Ναυτικού, δεσμεύοντας την περιοχή μεταξύ Ρόδου και Καστελορίζου και νοτιοανατολικά της Λήμνου, όπως φαίνεται στην φωτό.
