Ταξιδιωτική συμβουλή με την οποία συνιστά «ιδιαίτερη προσοχή» στους Γερμανούς που επισκέπτονται την Τουρκία γύρω από την Πρωτοχρονιά εξέδωσε το γερμανικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, επισημαίνοντας μεταξύ άλλων τον κίνδυνο τρομοκρατικών επιθέσεων.
Σύμφωνα με το υπουργείο, αποθαρρύνονται τα μη απαραίτητα ταξίδια στην περιοχή των συνόρων μεταξύ Τουρκίας και Ιράκ και Τουρκίας και Συρίας στις επαρχίες Σανλιουρφά, Μαρντίν Σιιρνάκ και Χακαρί, ενώ τονίζεται ότι «πρέπει να θεωρείται δεδομένη η ύπαρξη τρομοκρατικής απειλής σε όλες τις περιοχές της Τουρκίας» και ότι «η περίοδος πριν από την παραμονή της Πρωτοχρονιάς είναι ιδιαίτερα συμβολική για τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις».
Το γερμανικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών συμβουλεύει επίσης να αποφεύγονται οι μεγάλες συγκεντρώσεις, οι πλατείες και τα τουριστικά αξιοθέατα, αλλά και οι περιοχές κοντά σε κυβερνητικές και στρατιωτικές εγκαταστάσεις.
