Ο πρώην πρωθυπουργός της Γαλλίας Μισέλ Rοκάρ πέθανε το Σάββατο σε ηλικία 85 ετών, σε νοσοκομείο του Παρισιού.
Ο Μισέλ Ροκάρ υπήρξε πρωθυπουργός της κυβέρνησης του προέδρου Φρανσουά Μιτεράν επί τριετία (1988-1991), μετά την επανεκλογή του για δεύτερη προεδρική θητεία.
Είχε προηγηθεί η περίοδος της «συγκατοίκησης» κατά τη διάρκεια της οποίας ο Μιτεράν έχοντας χάσει την πλειοψηφία στο κοινοβούλιο είχε ορίσει πρωθυπουργό τον τότε επικεφαλής του RPR (δεξιά) Ζακ Σιράκ (1986-1988).
Στο πρόσωπό του ο πρόεδρος της Γαλλίας Φρανσουά Ολάντ τίμησε «μία μεγάλη προσωπικότητα της Γαλλικής Δημοκρατίας», που ενσάρκωσε τον σοσιαλισμό που συμφιλίωνε «την ουτοπία και τον μοντερνισμό». Γεννήθηκε τον Αύγουστο 1930, υπήρξε θερμός ευρωπαϊστής και είχε αποφοιτήσει από την ENA.
