Ο πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Ντόναλντ Τραμπ απείλησε ότι θα διακόψει την οικονομική βοήθεια στις χώρες που θα ψηφίσουν υπέρ ενός σχεδίου ψηφίσματος που καταδικάζει την αναγνώριση από την Ουάσινγκτον της Ιερουσαλήμ ως πρωτεύουσας του Ισραήλ.
«Λαμβάνουν εκατοντάδες εκατομμύρια δολάρια, ακόμη και δισεκατομμύρια δολάρια και μετά ψηφίζουν εναντίον μας. Καλώς, παρακολουθούμε αυτούς τους ψήφους.
Αφήστε τους να ψηφίσουν εναντίον μας. Θα γλυτώσουμε πολλά χρήματα. Δεν μας νοιάζει», δήλωσε ο Τραμπ στους δημοσιογράφους. Στη συνεδρίαση της Γενικής Συνέλευσης του ΟΗΕ που συγκαλείται εκτάκτως αύριο τα 193 κράτη μέλη θα κληθούν να ψηφίσουν του σχεδίου ψηφίσματος που θα καταδικάζει την αναγνώριση από την Ουάσιγκτον της Ιερουσαλήμ ως πρωτεύουσας του Ισραήλ.
