«Ο περιφερειακός επιτηρητής Paul Hector Joseph, ο οποίος είναι επικεφαλής της φυλακής Croix des Bouquets, σκοτώθηκε» σημείωσε ο εκπρόσωπος Τύπου της αστυνομίας.
«Αρκετοί φυλακισμένοι έχουν δραπετεύσει» συμπλήρωσε ο ίδιος.
Οι ταυτότητες των άλλων θυμάτων δεν έχουν γίνει, ακόμη, γνωστές από τις Αρχές της χώρας.
Φυλακισμένοι σημείωσαν πως άκουσαν πυροβολισμούς γύρω στο μεσημέρι.
Όσοι δραπέτευσαν φέρεται να απείλησαν τους υπαλλήλους καταστήματος ρούχων για να κλέψουν τα προϊόντα τους.
Είναι μεγάλη η αστυνομική παρουσία στο σημείο και γίνεται προσπάθεια επανάκτησης του ελέγχου της φυλακής.
