«Το Ισραήλ επιτρέπει τις τελευταίες εβδομάδες την είσοδο κάποιας βοήθειας στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, η οποία όμως δεν επαρκεί για να αποτρέψει τον εκτεταμένο λιμό», κατήγγειλε σήμερα το γραφείο του Ύπατου Αρμοστή του ΟΗΕ για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα.
Ο Θάμιν αλ Χίταν, εκπρόσωπος του Ύπατου Αρμοστή για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα κατά τη διάρκεια ενημέρωσης των δημοσιογράφων από τη Γενεύη, είπε ότι «ο κίνδυνος λιμού στη Γάζα είναι άμεσο αποτέλεσμα της πολιτικής της ισραηλινής κυβέρνησης να εμποδίζει την είσοδο ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας».
Από την πλευρά της, η υπηρεσία του ισραηλινού υπουργείου Άμυνας αρμόδια για τη διαχείριση των πολιτικών υποθέσεων στα παλαιστινιακά εδάφη, η Cogat, τονίζει ότι το Ισραήλ καταβάλλει «σημαντικές προσπάθειες» για τη διανομή βοήθειας στη Γάζα.
