Δεν υιοθετήθηκε στο Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ το σχέδιο ψηφίσματος που κατέθεσε η Ρωσία, ζητώντας «ανθρωπιστική εκεχειρία» και απρόσκοπτη πρόσβαση της ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας στην πολιορκούμενη από τον ισραηλινό στρατό Λωρίδα της Γάζας.
Το σχέδιο υποστηρίχθηκε από τη Ρωσία, την Κίνα, τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα και την Γκαμπόν. ΗΠΑ και Βρετανία το καταψήφισαν, ενώ απείχαν εννέα χώρες-μέλη (Γαλλία, Ελβετία, Αλβανία, Μάλτα, Βραζιλία, Ισημερινός, Γκάνα, Μοζαμβίκη και Ιαπωνία).
Βέτο από Ρωσία και Κίνα στο σχέδιο ψηφίσματος που κατέθεσαν οι ΗΠΑ
Νωρίτερα, η Ρωσία και η Κίνα άσκησαν βέτο στο σχέδιο ψηφίσματος που κατέθεσαν οι ΗΠΑ στο Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ ζητώντας προσωρινή παύση των εχθροπραξιών μεταξύ Ισραήλ και Χαμάς για «ανθρωπιστικούς λόγους».
Το σχέδιο καταψηφίστηκε επίσης από τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα, υποστηρίχθηκε από 10 χώρες-μέλη (ΗΠΑ, Γαλλία, Βρετανία, Ελβετία, Αλβανία, Μάλτα, Ισημερινό, Γκαμπόν, Γκάνα, Ιαπωνία), ενώ Βραζιλία και Μοζαμβίκη απείχαν από την ψηφοφορία.
