Ο Πρόεδρος Trump αναμένεται να εμποδίσει την απελευθέρωση πληροφοριών από χιλιάδες διαβαθμισμένα έγγραφα σχετικά με τη δολοφονία του πρώην Προέδρου John F. Kennedy το 1963, σύμφωνα με άρθρο του περιοδικού Politico την Παρασκευή.
Πάνω από 3.000 έγγραφα σχετικά με τη δολοφονία πρόκειται να κυκλοφορήσουν από το Εθνικό Αρχείο την επόμενη εβδομάδα, σύμφωνα με τον νόμο περί συλλογής απορρητων εγγραφων για την δολοφονια του Προέδρου John F. Kennedy του 1992, σύμφωνα με τον οποίο η ομοσπονδιακή κυβέρνηση πρέπει να τα απελευθερώσει μέχρι τις 26 Οκτωβρίου 2017.
Ωστόσο, αξιωματούχοι της διοίκησης της Trump δήλωσαν στη δημοσίευση ότι υπάρχει ανησυχία για την αποχαρακτηρηση των διαβαθμισμένων εγγράφων που δημιουργήθηκαν την δεκαετία του 1990, λέγοντας ότι θα μπορούσαν να παράσχουν σημαντικές πληροφορίες σχετικά με πρόσφατες πληροφορίες και επιχειρήσεις επιβολής του νόμου.
Οι αξιωματούχοι δεν σχολίασαν ποιες λεπτομέρειες σχετικά με τον θάνατο του Kennedy θα κρατηθούν μυστικές σύμφωνα με τη διαταγή του Trump να σταματησει η απελευθέρωση.
