Ισχυρός σεισμός μεγέθους 6,6 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ σημειώθηκε τα ξημερώματα της Τετάρτης (29.03.2017) ανοιχτά της χερσονήσου Καμτσάτκα στην ανατολική Ρωσία. Ο σεισμός σημειώνεται λίγες μέρες μετά την έκρηξη ηφαιστείου στην περιοχή, για πρώτη φορά μετά από 250 χρόνια!
Όπως αναφέρει το πρακτορείο Sputnik, επικαλούμενο το Αμερικανικό Γεωλογικό Ινστιτούτο (USGS), ο ισχυρός σεισμός σημειώθηκε ανοιχτά της χερσονήσου της Καμτσάτκα, στην ανατολική Ρωσία.
Το επίκεντρο εντοπίστηκε 85 χιλιόμετρα βορειοανατολικά του Κρουτομπερεγκοβο και το εστιακό βάθος ήταν 22 χιλιόμετρα.
Έχει εκδοθεί ήδη προειδοποίηση για τσουνάμι. «Ανακοινώσαμε την προειδοποίηση για τσουνάμι βασιζόμενοι στα δεδομένα. Η προειδοποίηση αφορά στην περιοχή Ust-Kamchatsky και το χωριό Nikolskoe» ανακοινώθηκε από γεωλογικό παρατηρητήριο της ρωσικής Ακαδημίας Επιστημών, σύμφωνα με το πρακτορείο Ria Novosti.
Ωστόσο, μέχρι στιγμής δεν υπάρχει ανακοίνωση από το υπουργείο Εκτάκτων Καταστάσεων.
Η Καμτσάτκα βρίσκεται στο βόρειο άκρο του αποκαλούμενου Δαχτυλιδιού της Φωτιάς, μια περιοχή όπου σημειώνεται μεγάλος αριθμός σεισμών και ηφαιστειακών εκρήξεων.
