Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes that the number of patients in severe condition is stable and that the Health Ministry can handle the load, N12 reported. The prime minister reportedly does not think that a lockdown is worth the economic price that would follow, lowering the chances of a general lockdown during the high holidays. Furthermore, experts told N12 that the chain of infection is only expected to reach its peak towards the end of October, meaning that imposing a lockdown now would be useless, as the situation would go back to normal shortly after, assuming that the school year, which starts in September, will not dramatically increase the number of patients.
