Η Δημοκράτης βουλευτής των ΗΠΑ από τη Βιρτζίνια Τζένιφερ Γουέξτον, 55 ετών, ανακοίνωσε τη Δευτέρα ότι δεν θα διεκδικήσει επανεκλογή μετά τη διάγνωση μιας μορφής προοδευτικής νόσου του Πάρκινσον.
Ο βουλευτής Wexton εκπροσωπεί επί του παρόντος τη 10η περιφέρεια του Κογκρέσου της Βιρτζίνια, η οποία είναι μια ανταγωνιστική περιοχή που περιλαμβάνει πολύ εύπορες κοινότητες προαστίων της Ουάσιγκτον, DC, όπως η κομητεία Loudon και η κομητεία Fairfax.
