Η NASA δεν δίνει τις τελευταίες εικόνες του διαστρικού σώματος 3I/ATLAS που έλαβε στις 2 Οκτωβρίου στην δημοσιότητα καταγγέλλει ο αστροφυσικός του Χάρβαντ Δρ. Avi Loeb μιλώντας στο News Max.
Οπως αναφέρει ο ίδιος η NASA έλαβε την τελευταία εικόνα του 3I/ATLAS στις 2 Οκτωβρίου 2025, από την κάμερα HiRISE του Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, που βρίσκεται στην πλανήτη Άρη έκτοτε όμως οι εικόνες αυτές δεν έχουν δοθεί στη δημοσιότητα όπως θα έπρεπε.
Το αντικείμενο, 3I/ATLAS, είναι το τρίτο γνωστό διαστρικό αντικείμενο που περνάει από το ηλιακό μας σύστημα, μετά το ‘Oumuamua το 2017 και το 2I/Borisov το 2019, και τα ασυνήθιστα χαρακτηριστικά του έχουν πυροδοτήσει ενδιαφέρον αλλά και εικασίες.
Η καθυστέρηση της NASA στην δημοσίευση αυτών των εικόνων έχει οδηγήσει σε θεωρίες συμπεριλαμβανομένης της πιθανότητας το 3I/ATLAS να είναι ένα αντικείμενο που έχει κατασκευαστεί από άλλο πολιτισμό.
Πολλοί δικαιολογούν την καθυστέρηση στην δημοσιοποίησης των φωτογραφιών στο shutdown σε όλο τον κρατικό μηχανισμό των ΗΠΑ.
Ο Ευρωπαϊκός Οργανισμός Διαστήματος (ESA) έχει δημοσιεύσει δεδομένα για το 3I/ATLAS, αλλά η ποιότητα είναι κατώτερη από αυτήν που διαθέτει η NASA, προσθέτοντας στο μυστήριο και τη δημόσια ζήτηση για διαφάνεια.
Το 3I/ATLAS αναμένεται να περάσει πίσω από τον Ήλιο στα τέλη Οκτωβρίου 2025 και θα μπορούσε ενδεχομένως να κατευθυνθεί προς τη Γη στις αρχές του 2026, εγείροντας ανησυχίες σχετικά με τη φύση και τις προθέσεις του
