Η κυβέρνηση της Γερμανίας δεν θα απαγορεύσει στην κινεζική εταιρεία-κολοσσό των τηλεπικοινωνιών Huawei να συμμετάσχει στην κατασκευή δικτύων κινητής τηλεφωνίας πέμπτης γενιάς (5G), διαβεβαίωσε ο υπουργός Οικονομίας Πέτερ Αλτμάιερ χθες Πέμπτη, τόνισε ωστόσο ότι το Βερολίνο θα επιβάλλει πλέον αυστηρότερα κριτήρια ασφάλειας σε όλους τους προμηθευτές.
Ερωτηθείς κατά τη διάρκεια εκπομπής του δημόσιου τηλεοπτικού δικτύου ZDF εάν το Βερολίνο θα απαγορεύσει στη Huawei να συμμετάσχει στον επικείμενο διαγωνισμό για το δίκτυο 5G, εξαιτίας των ανησυχιών που εκφράζονται για τις σχέσεις της εταιρείας με την κινεζική κυβέρνηση, ο Αλτμάιερ απάντησε «όχι, δεν θέλουμε να αποκλείσουμε καμιά εταιρεία».
Όμως συμπλήρωσε πως ο νόμος θα αλλάξει ώστε να απαιτείται τα δίκτυα 5G να είναι ασφαλή και να μην υπάρξουν παραβιάσεις των κανονισμών για την προστασία των δεδομένων.
Ακόμη, ο Αλτμάιερ είπε, σύμφωνα με το Αθηναϊκό Πρακτορείο Ειδήσεων, πως η κυβέρνηση δεν θα προβάλει βέτο για να αποτρέψει εξαγορές εταιρειών σε αυτή την περίπτωση, διότι η οικοδόμηση του δικτύου 5G δεν συνδέεται με κάποια συγχώνευση ή εξαγορά.
Η Γερμανία αποφάσισε χθες να ισχύσουν αυστηρότερα κριτήρια για τους προμηθευτές εξοπλισμού δικτύων, χωρίς να επιφυλάξει πάντως ιδιαίτερη μεταχείριση στη Χουάγουεϊ. Ανέφερε ότι οι νέοι κανόνες ισχύουν για όλους τους προμηθευτές.
Η απόφαση ακολούθησε μήνες συζητήσεων και σεναριολογίας για το αν το Βερολίνο θα συντασσόταν με την Ουάσινγκτον και συμμάχων της και θα απαγόρευε τη συμμετοχή της κινεζικής εταιρείας στους διαγωνισμούς για τα δίκτυα 5G, εξαιτίας των ανησυχιών για την ασφάλεια και τη θρυλούμενη σχέση της Χουάγουεϊ με τις κινεζικές υπηρεσίες κατασκοπείας. newsbeast.gr
