Η Αργεντινή, η οποία έχει τη μεγαλύτερη εβραϊκή κοινότητα στη Λατινική Αμερική, καταδίκασε την Τετάρτη την ισραηλινή επίθεση σε έναν πυκνοκατοικημένο καταυλισμό προσφύγων στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας την Τρίτη.
Το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών της Αργεντινής ανέφερε σε ανακοίνωσή του, «Τίποτα δεν δικαιολογεί την παραβίαση του διεθνούς ανθρωπιστικού δικαίου», και ζήτησε επίσης στη δήλωση για την απελευθέρωση των Ισραηλινών ομήρων που κρατούνται από φατρίες της Παλαιστινιακής αντίστασης, σύμφωνα με το Reuters.
Αυτή η δήλωση έρχεται μια ημέρα αφότου η γειτονική Βολιβία στη Νότια Αμερική διέκοψε τις διπλωματικές σχέσεις με το Ισραήλ, λόγω των επιθέσεων της στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, και η Κολομβία και η Χιλή ανακάλεσαν επίσης τους πρεσβευτές τους στο Ισραήλ, γράφουν τα «Νέα του Καΐρου».
