Με διαφορά λίγων ημερών έφυγαν από τη ζωή δύο γονείς που έδιναν μάχη με τον καρκίνο, αφήνοντας ορφανά δύο παιδάκια, ηλικίας οκτώ και τεσσάρων ετών.
Δημοσίευμα της New York Post, η τραγωδία χτύπησε την οικογένεια Joyce που ζούσε στο Christchurch της Νέας Ζηλανδίας. Ο Nigel έπασχε από όγκο στον εγκέφαλο και απεβίωσε στις 31 Μαΐου, ενώ η Marjan έδινε μάχη με τον καρκίνο του μαστού, φεύγοντας από τη ζωή στις 6 Ιουνίου.
Πριν λίγα χρόνια είχε γίνει η διάγνωση και στους δύο, ενώ άφησαν πίσω τους δύο παιδιά, την 8χρονη Oriana και την 4χρονη Emily.
Η κηδεία τους θα γίνει στο St Andrew’s College του Christchurch την Κυριακή, ενώ έχει δημιουργηθεί ένας έρανος Give A Little για να βοηθηθούν τα παιδιά.
Μέχρι στιγμής, ο έρανος έχει προσελκύσει δωρεές άνω των 80.000 αμερικανικών δολαρίων.
