Η Γερμανία απαγόρευσε τις εξαγωγές όπλων στην Τουρκία, αντιδρώντας στην τουρκική πολεμική επιχείρηση κατά των Κούρδων μαχητών (YPG) στα βόρεια της Συρίας.
Αυτό αναφέρει η γερμανική εβδομαδιαία εφημερίδα “Bild Am Sonntag” που επικαλείται σημερινές δηλώσεις του Γερμανού υπουργού των Εξωτερικών Χάικο Μάας.
“Κατά του υπόβαθρου της τουρκικής επιθετικής ενέργειας στα βορειοανατολικά της Συρίας, η ομοσπονδιακή κυβέρνηση δεν θα εκδώσει νέες άδειες [εξαγωγής] για το σύνολο του στρατιωτικού εξοπλισμού που θα μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιηθεί από την Τουρκία στην Συρία,” δήλωσε ο Γερμανός ΥΠΕΞ στην εφημερίδα.
Η Γερμανία εξήγαγε όπλα οικονομικής αξίας 243 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ (268 εκατομμύρια δολάρια) στην Τουρκία το 2018, που αντιστοιχούν περίπου στο 1/3 των συνολικών γερμανικών εξαγωγών όπλων, σύμφωνα με την εφημερίδα.
Υπενθυμίζεται πως ήδη η Ολλανδία, η Σουηδία και η Φινλανδία θα προχωρήσουν σε αναστολή εξαγωγών οπλικών συστημάτων και στρατιωτικού εξοπλισμού στην Τουρκία.
