Ο γαλλο-ελβετικός κολοσσός της βιομηχανίας τσιμέντου LafargeHolcim, απαντώντας σε μηνυτήρια αναφορά για επιχειρηματικές συναλλαγές με τον ISIS, παραδέχθηκε ότι υπήρξαν «απαράδεκτες» κινήσεις από την πλευρά του.
Συγκεκριμένα ανέφερε ότι προκειμένου να συνεχίσει τις δραστηριότητές της, η συριακή μονάδα της εταιρείας χρηματοδότησε μεσάζοντες για να έρθουν σε συμφωνία με ομάδες ενόπλων που βρίσκονταν υπό διεθνή αποκλεισμό.
Η μήνυση, την οποία κατέθεσαν οργανώσεις ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων ανέφερε ότι η εταιρεία χρηματοδοτούσε την τρομοκρατία στη Συρία και συγκεκριμένα τον ISIS.
Οι καταγγελίες αφορούν την περίοδο πριν από τη συγχώνευση της Lafarge με την ελβετική Holcim.
Η γαλλική κυβέρνηση έχει επίσης αναγνωρίσει ότι εξόπλιζε και χρηματοδοτούσε ομάδες ακραίων ισλαμιστών σε χώρες όπως η Λιβύη και η Συρία.
O ISIS ο οποίος αποτελείται και από οργανώσεις και μαχητές που χρηματοδοτούνταν από τη Γαλλία έχει αναλάβει την ευθύνη για τρομοκρατικά χτυπήματα σε γαλλικό έδαφος.
Η lafarge εισήλθε στην ελληνική αγορά τσιμέντου το 2001 και κατέχει την πλειοψηφία των μετοχών της ΑΓΕΤ Ηρακλής.
