Την ώρα που η Αμερική πενθεί και είναι αντιμέτωπη με το πιο μαζική φονική επίθεση τα τελευταία χρόνια, ο Ντόναλντ Τραμπ έκανε μια σειρά από tweets στα οποία υπερήφανα τόνιζε ότι είχε προειδοποιήσει για την ισλαμιστική τρομοκρατία.
«Εκτιμώ τα συγχαρητήρια για το γεγονός ότι είχα δίκιο αναφορικά με την ριζοσπαστική ισλαμιστική τρομοκρατία. Δεν θέλω συγχαρητήρια, θέλω σκληρότητα και επαγρύπνηση. Να είμαστε έξυπνοι», έγραψε ο υποψήφιος του Ρεπουμπλικανικού Κόμματος για την Προεδρία των ΗΠΑ προκαλώντας θύελλα αντιδράσεων, ενώ λίγο αργότερα επιτέθηκε προσωπικά στον Ομπάμα.
«Σκοπεύει ο Προεδρος Ομπάμα να προφέρει επιτέλους τις λέξεις Ριζοσπαστική Ισλαμιστική Τρομοκρατία. Αν όχι θα πρέπει να παραιτηθεί αμέσως από ντροπή», ήταν το tweet του δισεκατομμυριούχου.
Λίγο νωρίτερα ο Ντόναλντ Τραμπ με άλλο tweet δήλωνε ότι είναι δίπλα στα θύματα και τις οικογένειες τους.
