Οι άστεγοι του Μάντσεστερ δεν έχουν πλέον δικαίωμα να κοιμούνται σε σκηνές εξαιτίας μίας πρωτοφανούς δικαστικής εντολής που εξασφάλισε ο δήμος της πόλης, η οποία αναφέρει αναλυτικά τα μέρη όπου επιτρέπεται να κοιμάται κανείς στον δρόμο!
Σύμφωνα με το έγγραφο, ένας άστεγος στο Μάντσεστερ μπορεί να κοιμηθεί σε χάρτινες κούτες, sleeping bag, στάσεις λεωφορείων αλλά όχι και σε αντίσκηνα, αφού τα τελευταία δεν περιλαμβάνονται στην εκτενή λίστα.
Όπως αναφέρει δημοσίευμα της Independent, με τη συγκεκριμένη δικαστική εντολή ο δήμος της πόλης είχε ως σκοπό να διαλύσει μία κατάληψη διαρκείας με αντίσκηνα, η οποία πραγματοποιείται από ακτιβιστές στις πλατείες της πόλης ως διαμαρτυρία για την αδιαφορία που δείχνουν οι επίσημες αρχές απέναντι στο πρόβλημα των αστέγων.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι οι διαδηλωτές που θα επιλέξουν να παραμείνουν στους δρόμους της πόλης με σκηνές από εδώ και στο εξής θα αντιμετωπίσουν ποινή φυλάκισης έως και δύο ετών.
Ωστόσο, η δημοσιοποίηση της λίστας από τα βρετανικά μέσα έχει προκαλέσει θύελλα αντιδράσεων προκαλώντας «νέους πονοκεφάλους» στον δήμο, που τώρα προσπαθεί να περιορίσει τη ζημιά στη δημόσια εικόνα του.
