Ο Jacob Von Hogflume είναι ο φανταστικός χαρακτήρας που δήθν ευφεύρε το ταξίδι στον χρόνο, όπως επίσης και ένας πρώην και μελλοντικός κάτοικος του Λονδίνου.
Δημιουρηθηκε ως χαρακτήρας από δύο άνδρες, τους
Dave Askwith και τον Alex Normanton. Γράψανε ένα βιβλίο φαντασίας όπου δώσανε στον φανταστικό ευφευρέτη το όνομα Jacob Von Hogflume. Ο τίτλος του βιβλίου τους ήταν “Σημάδια Ζωής.” “Signs of Life.”. Το σημάδι του Von Hogflume σημειώνει την κατοικία του ευφευρέτη το 2063, ευεφευρέτη ο οποίος δημιουργήθηκε ως χαρακτήρας βιβλίου φαντασίας να έζησε στον 190 αιώνα. Το δίδυμο των δημιουργών του χαρακτήρα έχε τοποθετήσει κι άλλα σχετικά παραπλανητικά σημάδια στο Λονδίνο, στο μεταξύ.
