Εννέα μέλη των ενόπλων δυνάμεων του Αφγανιστάν σκοτώθηκαν όταν συνετρίβη ελικόπτερο στο κεντρικό τμήμα της χώρας αργά το βράδυ χθες Τετάρτη, ανακοίνωσε το υπουργείο Άμυνας.
Σε ανακοίνωση Τύπου που δημοσιοποιήθηκε σήμερα από το υπουργείο αναφέρεται ότι διενεργείται έρευνα για τη συντριβή, που έγινε στην επαρχία Μαϊντάν Ουαρντάκ, ενώ διευκρινίζεται πως τα θύματα είναι οι χειριστές και στελέχη των Ειδικών Δυνάμεων
.
Πηγή προσκείμενη στην αφγανική Πολεμική Αεροπορία και τοπικός αξιωματούχος δήλωσαν στο πρακτορείο ειδήσεων Ρόιτερς ότι το ελικόπτερο χτυπήθηκε από πύραυλο καθώς απογειωνόταν.
Η συντριβή έγινε γνωστή την ημέρα που απεσταλμένοι της κυβέρνησης, των Ταλιμπάν και χωρών-κλειδιών, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των ΗΠΑ και της Ρωσίας, συναντώνται στη Μόσχα για συνομιλίες με σκοπό να δοθεί ώθηση στην ειρηνευτική διαδικασία και να αποκλιμακωθεί η βία που εξακολουθεί να μαίνεται στην εμπόλεμη χώρα της Ασίας.
