Ό,τι δεν κατάφερε ο χρόνος τους τελευταίους αιώνες, το κατάφερε η φύση μέσα σε μια νύχτα…
Οι θυελλώδεις άνεμοι που έπνεαν από τη νύχτα στο λεκανοπέδιο των Ιωαννίνων, είχαν σαν αποτέλεσμα να καταρρεύσει η κορυφή του μιναρέ στο Ασλάν Τζαμί, όπου στεγάζεται το δημοτικό μουσείο Ιωαννίνων.
Το Ασλάν Τζαμί, που βρίσκεται μέσα στο κάστρο των Ιωαννίνων, χτίστηκε στις αρχές 17ου αιώνα, το 1618 από τον ηγεμόνα Ασλάν Πασά. Την τελευταία διετία είχαν διαπιστωθεί προβλήματα στον μιναρέ, μάλιστα η υπόθεση είχε απασχολήσει και το δημοτικό συμβούλιο, όμως τα καιρικά φαινόμενα πρόλαβαν τις εργασίες υποστήριξής του.
Από τους θυελλώδεις ανέμους που πνέουν τα τελευταία εικοσιτετράωρα στην περιοχή, παρατηρούνται, επίσης, πτώσεις δέντρων, ενώ είναι αισθητή και η πτώση της θερμοκρασίας, με τον υδράργυρο να κατεβαίνει κοντά στους μηδέν βαθμούς τα ξημερώματα στο Μέτσοβο, στη Βοβούσα και στα ορεινά χωριά της Κόνιτσας.
