Ο David Mayer De Rothschild είναι ένας διακεκριμένος επιχειρηματίας και περιβαλλοντολόγος, γνωστός ως Ήρωας του Κλίματος.
Είναι μέλος μίας από τις ισχυρότερες επιχειρηματικά οικογένειες του κόσμου και θα επισκεφθεί τη Σαντορίνη στις 12 Οκτωβρίου 2024 για να μιλήσει στο 2ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο Τουρισμού Πολυτελείας με τίτλο «The Luxury Side of Greece».
Στην ομιλία του, θα εξετάσει τη σχέση κλιματικής αλλαγής και τουρισμού.
Ο Rothschild έχει αναδείξει τη δέσμευσή του για περιβάλλον και κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη μέσω φιλανθρωπικών και περιβαλλοντικών δράσεων. Ήταν ένας από τους ελάχιστους που έχουν διασχίσει την Ανταρκτική και έχει ταξιδέψει με σκάφος από ανακυκλώσιμα πλαστικά, προκειμένου να επισημάνει τη θαλάσσια ρύπανση. Αν και υπάρχουν φήμες για σχέσεις του με διάσημες προσωπικότητες, αυτός προτιμά να διατηρεί χαμηλό προφίλ, εστιάζοντας στο έργο του ως επιδραστικός ηγέτης στον τομέα της βιωσιμότητας.
